-SHORT STORY-

"Southern hospitality was as scarce as teeth in New Haven. There were no Rhett Butlers or Scarlett O’haras, there were just jaded vagrants and hapless hypocrites, each hesitant to miss a Sunday service but eager to drown their sorrows in some sort of vice. It had been a year since Blue Eyes pinned Vinnie in Emerald City, but I was still acting as a clandestine agent of a timeless ritual, a transient phantom of local neighborhoods and rustic highways. I was still serving as a delivery boy. If I wasn’t peddling meth or call girls for Beau, I was pushing deep-dish pepperonis and mozzarella sticks for Vinnie at Mazz’s Pizzeria."
